HI my name is Jackie. Welcome to my first blog for Flourish Fine Art. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I know you're busy. This world moves at a rapid pace - it seems like there is barely enough time in the day to even do what we need to do, let alone what we enjoy doing.

My business is several years in the making. I always thought I would work as an architect and that would be my life's career, especially after seven years of college. But life has a funny way of moving you out of and into different seasons. After the economic downturn in 2008, two kids, and caring for a mother with cancer, I felt led to leave architecture. Several busy years of life and its struggles left me feeling a little lost. I knew I wanted to do something else, but what? My childhood dreams of being an entrepreneur long lay dormant. Then I started to draw. I wasn't passionate about it, but felt led to to it. As more of my friends and family saw my work they said, "You should do this!" One day as I was praying I heard the word flourish enter my mind. I had heard the word before but didn't know its exact definition. Webster's defines it as "to grow, thrive and prosper." That's what I want! My purpose for Flourish Fine Art is to show the beauty in simplicity. To create drawings that help you breathe. All my drawings are black and white, in pen and pencil. I do this to show the essence of an object or place.

I believe art should inspire beauty and help us catch our breath. This is how I flourish. What makes you flourish?
